Examining The Foundation - The Conclusion

Examining The Foundation

The Conclusion

Gtcotr/ss110903

Point #224. Peace may be realizing that purpose outweighs pain.

This morning you can turn, if you wish, to 2 Timothy 2

Key Scripture: Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (NKJV)

God is ever increasing our knowledge and wisdom.

He is teaching us and training us for His best use.

God is stretching us and transforming us for His purpose

As we have examined the foundation of our life, family & church, we have searched the scriptures together and have found several truths.

We have examined:

Salvation and found that it is:

* The result of believing the message of Jesus and accepting the conditions of His Lordship.

Water Baptism

* Water Baptism is a grave that separates us from the lifelong enemies of our soul.

Prayer

* We Pray “To God, For …”

Worship

* The one heavenly opportunity we have on earth to properly acknowledge God.

Church Attendance & Participation

* In the OT, NT & Revelation’s picture of eternity …

* If you want to be like Jesus, you will have to go to church and participate … even when some aren’t so nice to you.

The Master Plan Of God

* Be Godly

* Be Healthy

* Be Productive

The Infilling and Indwelling of the Holy Spirit

* You shall receive ‘Power To Be Witnesses’

Tithes and Offerings

* Tithing is a Covenant Responsibility

* Offerings are Kingdom Opportunities.

> Offerings Fall Into Three Categories

^ Follow The Lead

^ Meet The Need

^ Sow The Seed

How To Receive From God

* Grace Provides

* Hope Envisions

* Faith Lays Hold On

* Patience Possesses

Our Perception Of Father God

* What a person thinks about God makes a difference

* It is not the Master who determines the reward, but the servant.

The Integrity Of God’s Word & Our World View

* Often it is not our interpretation but our estimation of the scriptures that begs correction

One Last Lesson before we get on with building on this foundation:

Don’t get caught up in the medium and miss the message

God is transforming you

In order to do this, He may choose to use many circumstances, situations and individuals:

* Some will teach you what to do and how to do it

* Others will teach you how and what not to do

> Both are valuable lessons in life

Don’t let the messenger keep you from getting the message

2 Timothy 2 (NIV)

14 ¶ Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarrelling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.

15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

23 Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.

24 And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

* The Conclusion

You are most likely more in the will of God than you give yourself credit for.

Ecclesiastes 12

9 Because the Teacher was wise, he taught the people everything he knew. He collected proverbs and classified them.

10 Indeed, the Teacher taught the plain truth, and he did so in an interesting way.

11 A wise teacher’s words spur students to action and emphasize important truths. The collected sayings of the wise are like guidance from a shepherd.

12 But, my child, be warned: There is no end of opinions ready to be expressed. Studying them can go on forever and become very exhausting!

13 ¶ Here is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is the (whole) duty of every person.

The foundation has been examined …

Now … Lets Build The Church!
