A Proper Response

A Proper Response

Imagine yourself as a sheep.

You belong to God and He has gathered you into one of His barns to feed you

I am an under shepherd, a servant, a steward.

My job is to feed you what the Owner/Master has decided.

Open your life this morning to be fed.

For some of you who are healthy & productive, it will be your favorite food.

For others who are injured, sick, in pain or malnourished it may be difficult to eat.

It may be hard to keep your mind off the pain and on the eating.

What the Master has prescribed may not taste good to you.

You may not even feel like eating.

Your loving God has prepared a portion for you today to help you get better, stronger, well and be productive.

Decide this morning that you are here to eat.

Open your hearts and minds to God’s word at my hand.

I. A Proper Response

Note: A proper response to God is what is expected of you regardless of what anyone else does or does not do.

A. Luke 10:25-28

25 ¶ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

B. 1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
