Exodus 12 NKJV
21 ¶ Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb.
22 “And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.
23 “For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.
24 “And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and your sons forever.
It was on this very day, 1500 years after Moses gave these instructions that the First-born of God was crucified as the final Passover Lamb to deliver the Children of God from the Pharoah of this world.
John 19 NKJV

39 And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.
40 Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.
41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid.
42 So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.
This very evening the full moon indicates we have arrived at another Passover and a time to remember. 2000 years ago God gave His Only Son, His Firstborn, as a sacrifice for all sin forever, and soon we will once again celebrate His resurrection.
The Apostle John gives us keen insight into what happened that final Passover evening. Of interest to us tonight are the facts that:
