Lesson: What Are We Doing About What We Have Heard?

Pastor Ron’s remarks and intro of First principle

First Principle: We need to hear the Word of the Lord.
Scripture Reference: Luke 5:15 The report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.
How shall they know unless they are told?
In order for anyone to hear someone has to tell.
Question: In order for the crowds to be healed from their infirmities they first had to hear. What was it they heard?
Follow Up Question: Share and discuss some times in your life when you heard from God before you received.
Conclusion: It is imperative that we hear the Good News because faith comes by hearing the Word of God. It is also important that we share the Word of God with others so that they might also hear and have the opportunity to respond in faith.

Pastor Ron’s remarks and intro of second principle

Second Principle: Miracles happen when we agree with God.
Scripture Reference:  Romans 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The original Greek word translated into the English word “confession” is “homologeo” which basically means “the same as” (homo), (logos), “the Word”. In this light confession means to say the same as, or to verbally agree with the Word God has spoken.
Question: List and discuss occasions from the Bible when others agreed with God and verbalized their faith.
Follow Up Question: Share and discuss occasions in your life when you or someone you know has been challenged to believe God and verbally agree with Him by faith.
Conclusion: A spiritual power likened unto that power which created the universe is released when we verbalize the Word of God with passion and conviction. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and every man is filled with the fruits of his heartfelt confessions. Nothing is more powerful than agreeing with God.

Pastor Ron’s remarks and intro of third principle

Third Principle: If we do nothing, nothing will get done.
Scripture Reference: James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
God expects us to put feet to our faith as doers of the Word and not hearers only.
We deceive ourselves when we think hearing or talking the Word is enough.
Question: What are some areas in our daily lives where God expects us to take action?
Follow- up Question: How can we better motivate ourselves to take that first step of faith.
Conclusion: The book of James says that faith without works is dead. If Noah would have heard God, believed God, and even told others about the coming flood but had built no boat, he would have perished because if we do nothing, nothing will get done.
