The message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most respected and yet the most rejected message the world has ever known. The truth of the Gospel rings loud in the hearts and minds of ever-increasing numbers of people from every nation, kindred, tribe, and tongue, in all walks of life, giving light to every age and stage of each generation, and spreading a hope, a faith, and a love that is older than the rivers and fresher than the rain.
Don’t fall for the propaganda of the devil who skews the news and rolls the polls to benefit a narrative he wants you to believe. I am aware that much of America needs to be evangelized with the goodness of the Gospel once again. But I am also aware that if every Born-Again Believer would first Live the Love of Christ and them simply go next door, or out to the streets, and tell their neighbors the story of Jesus, that we could reach all of America with the Good News by noon tomorrow.
We have a chance to teach our children, our teenagers, our young adults, and our families about the love of Christ. We serve a big God and there is still time. God will help us. He is not finished yet.
When Jesus was on the cross, He paid for the sins of every person who would ever come into this world. And some of those people have not been born yet. Not one drop of His blood will be wasted and not one soul will be abandoned. Each person is worth the time and the attention we give.
Today is a very special day. Easter is the day we set aside to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Allow me to refresh the Message of the Gospel of Jesus Christand the power of the Resurrection this morning. First:
The Life of Jesus is a Message of Love
Someone would have to really misrepresent the Jesus of the Bible to claim anything bad about Him. And sadly, that’s what the world does. But -
John 3:16 God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; and whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life.
The Life of Jesus is a Message of Love.
Next:
The Death of Jesus is a Message of Pain
Isaiah 53:5 He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
The life of Jesus is a message of Love; The death of Jesus is a message of pain; and …
Finally:
The Resurrection is a Message of Hope
1 Peter 1
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
I thank our loving God for the hope we have in Christ.
The message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is an invitation. It’s an invitation to:
Always and forever we remember that when we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are sharing a Message of Love from God.
Let’s read our text for today before we receive communion.
Matthew 28 NKJV
1 ¶ Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
6 “He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 “And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”
