Luke 4
18 "The Spirit of the
LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the
poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the
captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who
are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable
year of the LORD."
Jesus came
to Proclaim and Deliver
Why?
Because The
devil came to Deceive and Imprison
Lies hold us captive – Truth sets us free …
·
The
devil wants to tell you a lie and put you in prison.
·
Jesus
wants to tell you the truth and deliver you from prison.
·
Who
are you going to believe?
The devil
tells you the reason you don’t have a better life is because you don’t have
enough money.
·
But the Bible says - Luke 12:15
A man’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he
possesses.
The devil
tells you the reason you aren’t happy is because of all the bad things that
have happened to you.
·
But the Bible says - Habakkuk 3
17 Although the fig tree
shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the
labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock
shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the
stalls:
18 Yet I will rejoice in the
LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 The LORD God is my
strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me
to walk upon mine high places.
The devil
wants you to believe that God is your problem.

But the Bible says - Job 2:9-10
9 Then Job’s wife said to
him, "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!"
10 But he said to her,
"You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good
from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin
with his lips.
The devil
wants you to believe you won’t have enough.
·
But the Bible says – Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all
your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
The
lies of the devil imprison men and hold them captive in fear – the truth of God
will set men free.
The devil
will tell you that you can’t do it … you can’t make it!
·
But the Bible says – Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who
strengthens me.
·
John
8:44 tells us that the devil is a liar and when he speaks, he speaks for
himself and not for God because there is no truth in him. But thank God …
1 John 3:8 … For this purpose
the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Jesus
came to destroy the lies of the devil by proclaiming the truth and setting the
captives free. Without regard as to what the devil may have been saying or what
lies you have believed, the Bible says:
John 8:32 "And you shall
know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
God
is pleased when you know the truth … this is the truth!
Deliverance
is a miracle
1.
Purchased by God
2.
Paid for with the blood of His Only Son
3.
Given to the Children of God
4.
Received by faith

Corinthians 6:2 For He says ... "
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of
salvation.
Today
is the day that you can decide to stop believing the lies of the devil and
start believing the Truth of God’s Word. Jesus came to set the captives free.
Freedom and deliverance belong to the Children of God.
If
you are a Born Again Believer in Jesus, you are a Child of God and you have the
Truth living inside you. The Holy Spirit will be a continual guiding light in
your life. The faith you have in Jesus will bring many challenges in life but
God will see you through each one and bring you to victory after victory.
Every
time the devil tries to put you in some prison remember that he is a liar and
that the Truth has set you free.
If
you are not yet a Believer in Jesus who is the Son of God and the only Savior
of the world –
1.
Have
an honest talk with God and ask Him to tell you the truth.
2.
You
don’t have to take my word for it but don’t take anyone else’s word either.
3.
Your
eternity is important enough for you to know for yourself.
Jesus
came to give us:
·
Light;
Life; and Love
While
satan is spreading:
·
Darkness;
Death; and Hatred
Don’t
be deceived into serving the god of hatred, darkness and death.
But
also realize … just being good and for all the good and fluffy stuff like save
the oceans and whirled peas won’t get you to heaven. No amount of good makes
God. Only a relationship with the one Creator of the Universe through His only
Son Jesus can secure a person’s eternity. There is a God and you can know Him.
Ask Him to reveal Himself to you today!
