Last
week at the International Apostolic Summit in Honolulu, Dr Emmanuel
Cannistraci, a renowned minister and powerful man of God, now 82 years old,
opened the summit with a clear conviction given him by the Holy Spirit. He began
with this statement:
“We
live in a defining moment; change is constant and we are at a tipping point of
the will and purpose of God. Know for certain that God is sovereign and God is
in control.”
Dr
Cannistraci continued this discourse by revealing:
8
Challenges We Face In The Church Today
He
took us to the Book of Joshua, where I will ask you to turn with me now, and using
this Biblical account, Dr Cannistraci gave us 8 Requirements for experiencing
victory in this defining moment.
Joshua 1
1 ¶ After the death of Moses
the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son
of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying:
2 "Moses My servant is
dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to
the land which I am giving to them — the children of Israel.
3 "Every place that the
sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.
What
will it require to face this defining moment with victory?
1. A Trans-Generational Leadership in cooperation
with one another.
Joshua 1:5 No man shall be
able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so
I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
2. A New Level of Courage
Joshua 1:9 "Have I not
commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be
dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
a. We cannot afford to
stop getting on airplanes and going on missions trips
b. We cannot allow the
legal mandates of the antichrist and his governmental restrictions to become
our boundaries
c. We must have faith
in our marching orders so as to muster the faith and courage to stand our
ground and go forward for the banner of the cross.
3. Possess the land God has given us
Joshua 1:11 Pass through the
camp and command the people, saying, Prepare provisions for yourselves, for
within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land
which the LORD your God is giving you to possess.
4. Meet the Challenge of This New Day With a New
Baptism
Joshua 3: 13 "And it shall
come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark
of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan,
that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come
down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap."
a. 1 Corinthians 10:1
tells of the first baptism for the children of Israel, it was a baptism in the
red sea. Now, this fresh covering and fresh fire comes to them for this new
season they are entering.
b. We need a fresh
filling for every new season of life and ministry.
c. We need fresh
strength and fresh anointing and a fresh Word for every mountain and each
moment of God in our lives.
5. A Renewed Covenant
Joshua 5
2 At that time the LORD said
to Joshua, "Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of
Israel again the second time."
9 Then the LORD said to
Joshua, "This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you."
Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day.
8 So it was, when they had
finished circumcising all the people, that they stayed in their places in the
camp till they were healed.
a. God wants to roll
away the reproach of unbelief
b. God wants to roll
away the slavery mentality
c. God wants to roll
away the wandering in the wilderness experience
d. God wants a freshly
renewed covenant
6. We Must Come to a New Level of Stewardship
Joshua 5:12 Then the manna
ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the
children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of
Canaan that year.
a. No longer living on
a handout from God and on barely get by street as a ward in the wilderness …
rather … we must become partners with God
b. God wants to raise
responsible children and set them in their land and bless the work of their
hands against all odds.
c. People for whom
everything is done are called babies …
7. A Fresh Revelation of the Majesty and the
Might of Jesus
Joshua 5
13 And it came to pass, when
Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man
stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and
said to Him, "Are You for us or for our adversaries?"
14 So He said, "No, but as
Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." And Joshua fell on his
face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, "What does my Lord say
to His servant?"
15 Then the Commander of the
LORD’S army said to Joshua, "Take your sandal off your foot, for the place
where you stand is holy." And Joshua did so.
a. This was Joshua’s
burning bush experience
b. Somewhere in life we
must recognize we are standing on Holy Ground.
c. Lest we get too big
for our britches we must also realize that God has His own agenda and His plan
is more important than ours.
8. Come to a New Level of Spiritual Warfare
Joshua 6:20 So the people
shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the
people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great
shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city,
every man straight before him, and they took the city.
There
is a new update ready for download from heaven …
This
morning when I first woke up for the second time, the Spirit of the Lord gave
me a brief vision while clearly speaking these words:
“Stop looking at things that are broken.
Look at things that are working. I have given you things that work. If things
are broken, I will give you new things …”
Sometimes
things don’t work because they simply won’t work for anyone but you.
Let’s
rise to meet the new challenges of this defining moment for the Kingdom of God
and planet earth.
