Hymn: Blessed Redeemer
Memory Verse: Isaiah 54:17 No
weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
Lesson: Life Principles
Pastor Ron’s remarks and intro
Instructions:
Inform
the group that today they will participate in an exercise which will involve
extracting godly principles from a passage of scripture and phrasing the
central truth in such a way that it can be quickly recalled and easily given to
others.
First task: Read completely
through Psalms 91:1-8 as a group.
Second Task: Make a list of two
or more life principles supported by this passage of scripture.
Scripture Reference: Psalms 91:1-8
Conclusion: Godly life
principles can and should be based on the Word of God. The Holy Spirit will
speak these principles to us when we read and meditate His Word. We should
develop a habit of cataloging those things God says to us and matching
scripture with principle to validate its truth.
Pastor Ron’s remarks
Pastor
Ron will ask a few tables to share one or two of their principles.
Instructions:
Same
as above.
First task: Read completely
through Psalms 91:9-16 as a group.
Second Task: Make a list of two
or more life principles supported by this passage of scripture.
Scripture Reference: Psalms 91:9-16
Conclusion: It is important to
glean principles of life from the scriptures for personal application. It is
also important that we be able to communicate these truths to others. To better
communicate, we should spend some time and effort boiling the truth down to a
short powerful and memorable phrase which can be remembered and repeated
easily.
Pastor
Ron will ask a few tables to share the life principles they have gleaned from
Psalms 91.
Pastor
Ron closing remarks
Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in
the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Where
is that secret hiding place of the Most High God?
The
greatest secret in the universe is a secret we are trying to tell the whole
world – it is Jesus Christ, Son of God and Savior of the World!
All
the promises of God including eternal life through salvation are in Christ.
