A Kingdom That Cannot Be Moved
COTR/ss062302
Key scripture: Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
Bible Reading:
Luke 11
14 ¶ And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.
15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.
17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.
18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
27 ¶ And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
I. Messages From The Bible
There is a love message
There is a forgiveness message
There is a salvation message
There is a damnation message
There is a deliverance message
There is a power message
There is a prosperity message
There is an evangelistic message
There is a holiness message
There is a heaven message
However, what we believe and teach at COTR is a kingdom message
II. What Is The Kingdom Message (Beginning @ verse 20ff)
(but if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.)
* As far as Jesus is concerned
John 18:36 “… My kingdom is not of this world …”
Jesus has no desire to rule this world. He is interested in redeeming all who will out of this world before His Heavenly Father brings eternal judgment upon it and all of its children.
So as far as Jesus was concerned, the kingdom message is not a ‘Kingdom Now’ message but an ever advancing, ever coming Kingdom. A kingdom that is out of this world and always will be!
We are not trying to save the world but save people from the world (This regulates our vision, determines our priorities and guides our resources)
* As far as the devil is concerned
Banishes the powers of satan
Destroys the Works of the devil
1 John 3:8b … For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Matthew 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Matthew 16:18b … upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
* As far as man is concerned (what is the kingdom message?) (v. 28)
Lordship (blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it)
Dominion (more than just the authority to run the devil out, but also the fullness to keep him out)
Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
III. How To Take The Kingdom By Force
Deny Yourself, Take Up Your Cross & Follow Jesus
Three Steps To Becoming A Martyr
3 P’s In Pursuit Of Purpose
#1 Prayer
Matthew 6:10 “Thy kingdom come …”
#2 Proclamation
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
#3 Persistence
Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
